Mini Altars

You will have the opportunity to learn about Mexican popular art

Our mini altars workshop is aimed at the general public, especially for foreign students who are learning Spanish. You will have the opportunity to learn about Mexican popular art, within the context of the dignity of the so-called “milagritos”, which are a unique craft from Oaxaca, specifically from the Isthmus of Tehuantepec. They originated during Colonial times and symbolize love and gratitude for a miracle accomplished or a request.

During 3 hours you will understand how to dignify an element of popular tradition, using different materials that will be at your disposal: paper flowers, various applications, textiles and paint (already included), applying your creativity to generate a unique piece showing your artisan character.
